This week I read the headlines on the newspaper (Al khaleeg times) they were about the national day, Iran and Obama and I watched a video on the same website about (Abaya designer) how did he start this job, who support him and how did he successes at his job. The video was hard for me because the speaker was Indian, the accent was difficult for me to understand so I read the article which was with the video. And I understood the purpose of this video. And it was along holiday so I want to have fun but in the same time learn English so I watched a movie it was (up) I loved the movie even if it was for kids I had fun watching it without subtitle. I didn’t have any problem with understanding the language of the movie it was clear for me and there were no difficult vocabularies in the movie. Finally, I learned how to use Punctuation from this website

I had problem with using coma I didn’t know how or when to use it and from this website I understood how.

Week 9/10

This week I worked on grammar I had a quiz on this website

I choose a difficult level to challenge myself, my score was 65% I had a lot of mistakes but I learned from these mistakes. And I had a vocabulary quiz in the same website, it was medium level and my score was 95%. The level was easy for me next time I will try more difficult level. I reading I start a new story and it is with CD for listening it help me with the vocabulary I learned how to use the word and how to pronouns the word. The name of the book is black beauty it has many difficult vocabularies so I had to use the dictionary to translate them, such as: pond which means a lake but it’s smaller, gallop means to go fast, and saddle means a seat for a rider on the back of a horse or other animal. I think it is a great and interesting story because I love black horses they look really beautiful.

week 3

This week I watched a movie without subtitle it was a big challenge for me but it helped me a lot in Listen, I heard new vocabularies and I learned how to use them in future I will try to watch English program on TV without reading the subtitle, learning English can be fun too. I went to the library in the college and borrowed 3 new books I start one and it was interesting, the books that I borrowed was higher than my level I need to callenge my selfe. I found a website about English learning at home, it have a vocabulary section, grammar and tens, idioms and speaking. It’s really great website I learned some idioms about time such as beat the clock, work against the clock and run out of time. I can use this idiom in my speaking and writing. I will enter this website in future to learn more idioms and vocabulary. This is the link:

week 2

In this week I worked on my spelling l learned how to spell by breaking words into syllables, I think it helped me in spelling long words such as: revelation, success, occasionally and alternative. Second thing I used read up program to improve my reading I read two texts and they were intermediate level. The first one was about the mystery of Anastasia, the second one was about the early days of education. The first text was going slow so in the second text I speed it up little bet and it was better for me. And I got two mistakes in the quiz after the reading, next time I will speed it more than this time to learn reading quickly. In writing I needed to learn more linking words to help me in the writing so I did some research and I found a website which helped me a lot. This is the website:

My learning language journal

I start working on the language learning plan. I start with reading; I read the headlines of Khaleej Times newspaper and the national newspaper. And I read an article about Genie (the wild child) which helped me in human development class and in English learning plan. I read it on this website:

I didn’t have difficulty in understanding the article, however there were some vocabulary that I didn’t know and I needed to translate it such as: cataracts, makeshift and evidently.
I had a vocabulary quiz and my score was 80%, I only had two mystics it wasn't so hard. I went to the college library and I borrowed a book but it wasn’t for my level it was a kid’s book, the librarian advised me to borrow it, but I enjoyed reading it, now I’m reading ( little women ) by Louisa May Alcott.
